Women’s Rights - Out of Order?

Green Party Motion A79 : 'Establishing Women's Rights Section in PSS Following Supreme Court Judgment' has been ruled out of order.­­­­

Firstly, GWD would like to thank the 87 co-proposers who supported motion A79 : 'Establishing Women's RIghts Section in PSS Following Supreme Court Judgment'. This record number demonstrates extraordinary solidarity within the membership for Women's sex-based rights. 

However, we are disappointed - though not surprised - that despite this high level of support the Standing Orders Committee have ruled Motion A79 is "Out of Order". While we respect the Committee's role, we cannot agree with this decision. 

The procedural hurdles placed before women seeking to advance this motion represent a concerning disparity compared to historic motions in the rights and responsibilities section of Green Party policy. This is disappointing and, frankly, discriminatory - part of deeper systemic issues which you know we are determined to address.

We will not abandon this motion and will let you when we have progress.
